Tip #1 Don't spend what you don't have

You probably heard this a million times.  Don't spend what you don't have.  Try your best not to borrow money, especially for stuff you don't need. Be careful with credit cards and be sure to check your checking account often so you know how much money you have to spend. This is one good way to avoid overdraft fees.
